We can now count the days until the 2019 NFL Draft on one hand as the main event is vastly approaching. In preparation for the NFL Draft, a finalized top 50 big board, with the top-five players at every position, has been completed, including grades for those players. In this year’s class, 17 first round grades were given out, while 23 second round grades appear in this big board. Rounding out the top-50 are 10 third round grades. The grading is broken down into five categories: Top 10 grades, first round grades, early second round grades, second round grades, and third round grades (this system is not my own, but one used by The Draft Network in order to differentiate between rounds). This is not a mock draft, so there is no need to grade 32 players as first round prospects. Based off of team needs, players with second round grades, and even some with third round grades, may fall in the first round. Visa-versa, someone with a first round grade may not be drafted in the first round if a team need is not desperate enough at the position the player plays.
