The most recent news to rock the NFL world was not a big-name free agency signing but a pre-draft trade between the San Francisco 49ers and the Miami Dolphins. On Friday afternoon the news broke that the 49ers would be moving up in round one after acquiring the third overall pick from the Dolphins. The 49ers sent out the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft as well as a 2022 third rounder and first rounders in 2022 and 2023 as well. When a team moves up like the 49ers just did it typically means one thing and one thing only, they are planning on drafting a new quarterback with the third overall pick. It’s been long rumored that the Jacksonville Jaguars will take Trevor Lawrence first overall and there has been a lot of recent smoke that the New York Jets will be taking Zach Wilson second overall.
