The 2020 off-season once again did not go how the Los Angeles Chargers and their fans had hoped it would. After going 7-9 the Chargers brass decided to part ways with Anthony Lynn and have since signed first-time head coach Brandon Staley away from the in-town rival Los Angeles Rams. Staley was most recently the defensive coordinator for the Rams and after just one season with a said title, he was hired as a head coach. While the team success was not quite the Chargers brass had hoped to see there were still plenty of positives to be pulled from the 2020 season and the major one was rookie quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert burst onto the scene after Tyrod Taylor suffered an injury and subsequently had to miss time. It looks like the Chargers have hit the bullseye when it comes to landing a franchise quarterback. In recent years we have seen teams make deep playoff runs while their quarterback is on their rookie contract.
