The Indianapolis Colts have taken a gamble on Carson Wentz, backing their head coach Frank Reich to revive the fortunes of a player who declined from an MVP contender to one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL. Indianapolis sent a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round selection, which can become a first-rounder if he plays 75 percent of the snaps or if he plays 70 percent of the snaps and the Colts qualify for the playoffs next season, to the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire Wentz.
