Hurts has led the Eagles to a winning season (9-7 with one game remaining) in his first year as an NFL starting quarterback at just 23. The dual-threat playmaker leads the team in rushing yards (784) and rushing touchdowns (10), while still throwing for 3,144 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 15 games. Even as he recovers from a high-ankle sprain that forced him to miss Week 13′s win over the Jets, Hurts has led the Eagles to three consecutive victories over division opponents. So, if the Eagles decide to hang their hat on Hurts in 2022, they’ll need to determine how they’ll manage their league-leading three first-round picks in April. If a quarterback is out of the question — given Hurts’ status and the underwhelming nature of the class — then the Eagles should build around the incumbent signal-caller.
