While the Dallas Cowboys got off to a very slow start during the “legal tampering” period of NFL free agency, the team made a big trade, moving a fifth-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore. With Gilmore filling the team’s big need for an outside corner — a position that was a popular target for the Cowboys in the first round of many mock drafts — the team can now shift its focus to the offensive side of the ball. Whether it is a top running back to potentially replace Ezekiel Elliott and/or Tony Pollard, a tight end to fill the shoes of free agent Dalton Schultz or a wide receiver to be a running mate for CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys should look to strengthen their offense early on in the 2023 NFL Draft.
