With the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine starting up on Thursday, February 27th, all eyes will be in Indianapolis for one of the biggest events of draft season. The combine will be a huge opportunity for many draft prospects as they look to impress NFL teams. Prospects will not only undergo athletic testing and participate in drills but also meet with NFL teams to build relationships with coaches and general managers. For NFL teams, this week is also a key step for putting together draft boards and discussing trade opportunities with other teams. This leads to the subject of my first Chicago Bears mock draft for the 2025 NFL Draft. While much will change over the next few months, this mock draft will be reflective of where things stand now in terms of team needs as well as how public draft boards are ordered. General manager Ryan Poles will have his work cut out for him in this upcoming draft cycle, with needs all over the roster. In particular, the Bears need to upgrade both sides of the trenches as that was a huge weakness in 2024. Additionally, Ben Johnson coming in as head coach also adds a wrinkle to the Bears' ability to attack roster needs. While Johnson has talked about being on the same page with Poles, he will likely have a big say in terms of what moves the Bears make to upgrade this roster. For my first mock draft, I used Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator. This means that where players are selected depends on their draft board with how players are ranked, although PFF has previously stated that their simulator is meant to reflect where players are going according to the general consensus. There will also be no trades in this particular mock draft, as that is difficult to project at this point in the process. Below is a list of the draft picks that the Bears have currently:
