The New York Giants are on the brink of collapse. Following a Week 2 loss to the Washington Commanders, Brian Daboll’s squad is looking like a team in need of a revitalization on both sides of the ball. While it starts with quarterback Daniel Jones, an organizational restructure could be in the mix as the Giants will use the 2025 NFL Draft to get back to their winning ways in the NFC East. In starting the season at 0-2, Daboll looks to be a coach on the hot seat, but should the blame be on general manager Joe Schoen who is responsible for the players on the field, including Jones who has not gotten the Giants’ offense off to a good start, throwing for 364 yards in the first two games combined. While Jones did throw for two touchdowns in the team’s 21-18 loss to the Commanders, his contract is looking worse by the week which has Schoen looking like a GM who got played. The silver lining is that the Giants did get a top-notch performance out of their top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft as Malik Nabers balled out with 10 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown. There is still time for Daboll and the Giants to turn things around, but unless they pull an upset over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, the team will be playing for Daboll’s job and draft positioning.
