The Cowboys caught everyone by surprise with the way they attacked free agency. They traded late Day 3 picks for established veterans in Brandin Cooks and Stephon Gilmore, cut Ezekiel Elliott and replaced him with cheap veteran Ronald Jones, and re-signed their best pending free agents in Donovan Wilson, Leighton Vander Esch, Johnathan Hankins, and Dante Fowler. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though, the team is not perfect yet. But it’s much harder now to identify which direction they’ll head in the draft, which is a very good thing. So now that the first few waves of free agency have panned out, let’s take a look at what the Cowboys could come away with in the draft.
