In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s mock NFL Draft season. And while there are plenty of creative mocks out there — ones with a lot of trades, ones involving only offensive players, ones bringing aboard players from a single conference, etc. — Niner Noise decided to get a bit more creative. For this mock draft, we let San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance sit at the control board for his team’s selections in the 2022 draft. This would never happen, of course. But it does prompt the idea supporting Lance in as many ways as possible would be vital to the Niners’ plans for the upcoming season and beyond. The No. 3 overall pick from last year’s draft has a number of weapons at his disposal already, namely wide receiver Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle. But there’s still a need for more.
