After a surprising start to the 2021 season, the Chicago Bears have started to sputter against better teams. The Packers loss hurt them a ton, and the shellacking at the hands of the Bucs certainly has fans and analysts looking ahead to 2022 for them. So much of the drama for the Bears this season has surrounded head coach Matt Nagy, the coaching staff, and rookie quarterback Justin Fields. No one is absolved of guilt with the results produced on offense this season, but to check the box score and assume Fields is the major issue isn’t correct. Fields really hasn’t played terribly when given time to throw, but the offensive line has been a big let down, as neither Teven Jenkins nor Larry Borom have started a game yet.
