After a season that saw the Washington Football Team reach the postseason and go toe-to-toe with the Bucs in the wild card round, expectations were high entering the 2021 season. Washington gave Taylor Heinicke, who drove some late season heroics, some competition with the addition of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Alas, the “repeat curse” of the NFC East reared its head, and Washington struggled this season. Fitzpatrick got hurt early in the season, and Heinicke took over quickly. He had his ups and downs, and really looks like a high quality backup going forward. The defense lost Chase Young for the season, and rookie Jamin Davis had a rough first season.
