The first pick in our second Chicago Bears mock draft didn’t change, but the dynamics around it did. When Justin Fields was traded, it officially cemented the Bears in position to draft a rookie quarterback. There still is little mystery around it, but a different trade may have had a bigger impact on this exercise. By trading their fourth-round pick for Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, the Bears now have only four picks (they also traded their fifth-rounder for offensive lineman Ryan Bates). General manager Ryan Poles had 21 draft picks in his first two seasons, but this has been a different offseason, one taking advantage of a window to contend.
