The New England Patriots will have less options available to them with the No. 4 overall pick than they had with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. They lost the coveted top spot on the draft board after defeating the Buffalo Bills in the Week 18 regular season finale. That now puts them behind the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants in the drafting order. So what now? The No. 4 spot on the draft board is still a premium draft selection, and the Patriots will have a crack at one of the top-four players in college football. It might make them less likely to trade the pick now out of fear of missing on a potential game-changer right out of the gates. Keep in mind, this isn’t a deep draft on paper, and opportunities will be limited. The hope here is that the Patriots take care of business in free agency by signing Tee Higgins at wide receiver and upgrading the offensive line. There’s also the need for better development for the young players already on their roster, including Ja’Lynn Polk, Javon Baker, Caedan Wallace and Layden Robinson.
