This is likely the weakest quarterback draft class since 2013, when EJ Manuel was the only signal-caller selected in the first round (by the Buffalo Bills with the 16th overall pick). Geno Smith was selected by the Jets in the second round (39th overall) and Mike Glennon went to the Buccaneers in the third (73rd overall). Matt Barkley (98th to Eagles), Ryan Nassib (110th to Giants) and Landry Jones (115th to Steelers) were other notable selections at the position with the draft featuring a stretch of 106 picks between quarterbacks being chosen — the Chargers took Brad Sorensen with the 15th pick of the seventh round (221st overall). This week’s mock has three quarterbacks going in the first 13 picks, but this is based on need. If this happens in April, trust the poor decisions will be reflected in my post-draft grades.
