The NFL Draft is on the horizon, so it’s only right I immerse myself in the inevitable chaos of “what ifs” with my Colts mock draft 1.0. Indianapolis is facing one of its biggest decisions in franchise history as it prepares to draft a quarterback in the first round for the first time since Andrew Luck went No. 1 overall in 2012. Luck was a superstar, instantly turning the franchise back into a perennial playoff team, but ever since his shocking retirement ahead of the 2019 season, the Colts have been reeling with four different Week 1 starting quarterbacks in four years. We’ll have a few more mock drafts after we evaluate the four projected first-round QBs — Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Kentucky’s Will Levis and Florida’s Anthony Richardson — at the combine and their pro days. But to kick things off, I took a swing on what Indianapolis’ draft class might look like, including a seismic trade to move up to No. 1, and used Pro Football Network’s mock draft simulator to round out the rest of the team’s picks.
