It’s been just over two weeks since my first Colts mock draft. In that version, I had Indianapolis trading up to No. 1 for Alabama’s Bryce Young, the smallest but most polished and accomplished QB in this year’s class. The Colts relinquished the Nos. 4 and 35 picks, a fifth-round pick via Buffalo and their 2024 first-round pick to get “their guy.” However, after Young didn’t participate in the NFL Scouting Combine — the only projected first-round quarterback to opt out — it gave the Colts the chance to take a deeper look at the other three QBs who may be worthy of their highest pick since selecting Andrew Luck first overall in 2012. Young had nothing to prove in Indianapolis except his height (5-foot-10) and weight (204 pounds), which are still not ideal. But is that enough for the Colts to bow out of the Young sweepstakes? Could Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Kentucky’s Will Levis or Florida’s Anthony Richardson be “their guy” instead?
